You love it or you loathe it, the Eurovision Song contest stirs up some mixed feelings every year. 100 -600 million people will watch the contest live from Vienna, Austria tonight. Are you one of them? The first contest was held on May 24th, 1956 and to celebrate this 60th edition Australia is invited as a participant tonight. After more than five decades nearly 1,100 songs were in the musical spectacle. With Ireland as the leader in winnings, and Johnny Logan as leader in personal wins (2 times as a participant, 1 time as a songwriter). I'm ready for the three-and-than-some hours of music and fun! Here is my top five of Eurovision Songs: 1. ABBA - Waterloo Needs no explanation. Love. this. song. 2. Johnny Logan - Hold me now I think this is a great song and Johnny Logan is a great singer (and still is at age 61!) 3. Katrina and the Waves - Love shine a light This song always lifts up my spirits! 4. Teach Inn - Ding a dong The Netherlands won the contest in 1975 with this song. 5. The Olsen Brothers - Fly on the wings of love Simple but goooood! Winners of 2000. And my vote for 2015 goes to: Sweden! Have fun tonight!
Hey Petra, was that a lucky guess or did you have inside information? Even Australia was allowed to enter this year, not exactly "EURO" but we came 5th, not bad.
Eurovision, this is the reason I voted leave last week in the Brexit referendum, we're hated by the rest of Europe and that shows with the song contest......................................................................Only joking lol
